Driving from Taos, New Mexico to Burlington, Colorado
Very short while we are in a big hurry towards the severe weather. We will move to the tristate point Wyoming / Nebraska / Colorada. All forecasts are ok to observe our first severe weather. And now the conclusion... A stormchase never proceeds as forecasted. So our idea of heading for the Tristate point Wyoming / Nebraska / Colorado also was cancelled during our trip today. And that was not a bad decision after all!Map: from Taos (New Mexico) via Raton, Trinidad, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Limon to Burlington (Colorado)
We started in Taos and headed for the Rio Grande Bridge to do some short site-seeing.
After that we got all the way back to the I-27 to drive north to Denver. But this first part through the mountains took a lot longer as expected. On the I-27 we got to Colorado Springs and stopped at a Motel with free internet. Investigating the situation led us to the conclusion to drive further along highway 24 to Limon and then again making an internet-stop for more up-to-date weather-information. At Limon our first decision proved correct and we followed the I-70 to the east to encounter our first storms.
